(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Deputy foreign ministers of Egypt, Iran, Turkey and Saudi Arabia convened in Cairo in line with President Morsiˈs initiative to help resolve the current crisis in Syria.
Talking to us, Hossein Naqavi-Hosseini said that the parliamentary commission reviewed President Morsiˈs proposal to set up a quartet committee on Syria comprised of representatives of Egypt, Iran, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
He said that Iran welcomes the proposal and will extend necessary cooperation with Egypt in this respect.
Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian is currently in Egypt for the four-party meeting with his counterparts from Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia for consultations to stem bloodshed in Syria.
